The D-date for submission of your June answer sheets is 2 July. Because we have sent out the memos as well, you may mark the answer sheets yourself and then submit the marks before 2 July. The only marks we need for 2 July are the March test series and the June marks. Please keep your portfolio marks (as well as the portfolios) with you, till we talk about it at the beginning of August. / Die D-datum vir die inhandiging van jou Junie antwoordstelle is 2 Julie. - Winter School 2010 / Winterskool 2010
Not even 10% of all the candidates have responded on the Winter School letter! This means that more than 90% of the candidates will miss out on a crucial event! This also means that there is a possibility that we might cancell the Winter School due to a lack of interest. That can't work! / Nog nie eens 10% van al die kandidate het gereageer op die Winterskoolbrief nie! Dit beteken dat meer as 90% van al die kandidate 'n deurslaggewende gebeurtenis kan misloop! Dit beteken ook dat daar 'n moontlikheid is dat ons dan maar die Winterskool moet kanselleer as gevolg van 'n gebrek aan belangstelling. Dit kan tog nie!
I hereby want to inform you in detail about the Winter School, seeing that many clients are seemingly unaware of the importance of this event. / Hiermee wil ek graag vir jou in detail vertel waaroor die Winterskool handel, aangesien dit lyk asof baie kliënte onbekend is met die belangrikheid van die gebeure.
1.1 Eerstens sal ons die Junie-eksamen in detail met die kandidate bespreek, en na
probleme kyk wat die kandidate daarmee mag hê. / First of all we will discuss the June
exam papers in detail with the candidates, and look at problems the candidates might
have with it.
1.2 Tweedens bespreek ons probleme wat die kandidate met die jaar se werk het. / Secondly
we will discuss all the problems the candidates might have with the year's work.
1.3 Derdens kyk ons na die komende Rekordeksamen, as 'n voorbereiding vir die
Eindeksamen. / Thirdly we will take a good look at the coming Prelim Exams, as a
preparation for the Finals.
1.4 Laastens sal ons mekaar beter leer ken - vakouteurs en kandidate, en kandidate
onderling. / Lastly we will get to know each other better - subject authors and
candidates, as well as candidates amongst each other.
1.5 Vir die Impak kandidate: Julle het die keuse of julle op die terrein wil bly, of elke dag
net lesings wil bywoon. / For the Delta candidates: There are a couple of good guest
houses close to the venue. Please search for accommodation on any search engine.

Vind asb aangeheg die resepte en praktiese eksamen, sowel as al die inligting oor die praktiese eksamen. Jy mag dit eers 'n week voor die kandidaat die eksamen doen, vir hom/haar gee. 2.1 The pracs for Hospitality Studies 2010 will be done at home or at your support centre,

2.4 That person must sign the assessment documents. / Daardie persoon moet dan ook die

2.5 Parents are requested to attach photos to the documents - see the attached
documents. / Die ouers word gevra om foto's saam met die dokument vir ons terug te
stuur - kyk asb op die aangehegte dokument.
2.6 Parents may take the prac exam when they like, as long as we received the completed
forms before 13 August 2010. / Die ouers kan die prakties laat afneem wanneer hulle wil,
solank die voltooide dokumente ons voor 13 Augustus 2010 bereik.
2.7 Within 7 days after the parents have given the candidate the required recipes, the
assessment must take place. / Binne 7 dae nadat die ouers die voorgeskrewe resepte vir
die kandidate gegee het, moet die evaluering plaasvind.
2.8 Parents must remember to see to it that the candidate gets realistic marks (please reread

2.9 The OAER will moderate the submitted documents and photos on our premises. / Die

- Old Matric Final Papers / Ou Matriek Eindeksamen Vraestelle
Die vraestelle sal voor Vrydag op ons webwerf gepubliseer wees. Besoek asb dan ons webwerf indien jy belangstel. Op die webwerf sal jy die nodige opdragte kry om die vraestelle af te laai. Ouers sonder internet fasiliteite moet my asb kontak, sodat ons alternatiewe reëlings kan tref. Onthou asb dat die vraestelle wat jy op die web kry, die enigste vraestelle is wat ons by die OAER kon kry. / The papers will be published on our web site before Friday. Please visit the web site by then, should you be interested. On the web site you will find the necessary commands to download the papers. Parents without internet facilities must please inform me, so that we can make alternative arrangements. Impak het besluit om die dagkostes vir die Winterskool te skrap. Die Impak Winterskool vind plaas op 12-14 Julie 2010 by Altelekker Kampterrein in Irene. Die kampkostes beloop R700 en sluit volledige etes en akkommodasie in. Indien die kandidaat nie will oorslaap nie, maar etes op die terrein wil neem, dui asb aan watter etes hy/sy wil neem en betaal R50,00 per ete. Voltooi asb die aangehegte vorm wat gemerk is Finale Registrasie vir Impak Winterskool 12-14 Julie 2010. Die afsnydatum is nou Woensdag 30 Junie. Ons sal dit nie weer kan uitstel nie. Die Winterskool is baie belangrik vir die kandidate, want die volgende drie sake word daar aangeraak:

Delta has decided to delete the attendance (entry) fees of R50 per day for the Delta Winter School, which takes place on 19-21 July 2010 in Pretoria at the DRC in Monument Road Lyttelton. You will still have to get your own accommodation. Please complete the attached forms, marked the Final Registration for Delta Winter School 19-21 July 2010. Die cut off date now is Wednesday 30 June. We won't be able to postpone it again. The Winter School is very important for the candidates, due to three discussion which will take place there:

The Beeld of Tuesday 25 May 2010 p10 reports that there are certain tests that potential students may do now in order to qualify easier for certain degrees at certain universities. The tests are called NBT (National Benchmark Tests) (please see www.nbt.ac.za) and can, at this stage, be done at specific centres all over South Africa. Please call the NBT helpline at 0216503523 for more information, and make sure that your child qualifies easier to register at a tertiary institution for 2011.
Die Beeld van Dinsdag 25 Mei 2010 bl 10 berig dat daar sekere toetse is wat voornemende studente nou kan aflê ten einde makliker te kwalifiseer om vir sekere grade by sekere universiteite te registreer. Hierdie toetse word NBT (Nasionale Maatstaftoetse) genoem (kyk gerus by www.nbt.ac.za) en word tans afgeneem by spesifieke sentrums regoor Suid-Afrika. 1. March Test Series / Maart toetsreeks
Thank you for those who have already submitted their March Test Series papers. For those who haven't done it yet, remember this is very serious: You MUST submit it to us. If you don't do it, you won't get your final marks by the end of 2010. (All your portfolio work must be submitted in order for you to receive your marks for the final exams!) Friday was actually the D-date for submission. Please submit the March papers as soon as possible. / Baie dankie vir dié van julle wat reeds julle Maart toetsreeks ingestuur het. Vir dié van julle wat dit nog nie gedoen het nie, onthou, hierdie is 'n ernstige saak: Jy MOET dit vir ons instuur. As jy dit nie doen nie, kan jy nie jou eindeksamen punte vir 2010 kry nie. (Al jou portefeuljewerk moet ingestuur word, sodat jy uiteindelik jou eindeksamenpunte kan kry!) Vrydag was eintlik die laaste dag vir indiening. Stuur jou Maart toetse asb so gou moontlik in.

3. OAER Registrasie 2010 / OAER Registration 2010
Baie dankie vir dié van julle wat reeds julle OAER Registrasiedokumente volledig by ons ingehandig het. Vrydag was in wese die laaste dag vir indiening van die dokumente. Hierdie is selfs nog ernstiger as die vorige saak: Indien ons nie jou volledige registrasiedokumente (5 bladsye OAER vorms, Gr 10 en 11 sertifikate, Gr 12 sertifikaat waar toepaslik, 2 volkleur ID foto's, 'n gewaarmerkte afskrif van die kandidaat se ID dokument, en Amanuensisvorms waar toepaslik) voor Vrydag 14 Mei 2010 ontvang nie, sal ons die kandidaat moet deregistreer. Daar is 'n hele paar ouers wat glo hulle dokumente by ons ontvangs ingehandig het, maar die dokumente het verlore geraak. Dien asb weer daardie dokumente in? Ek is verskriklik jammer vir die ongerief, maar ek het nie jou dokumente ontvang nie! / Thank you for those who have already submitted their OAER registration in full. Friday was actually also the D-date for submission of your forms. This is even more serious than the previous one: If we don't receive your registration documents in full (5 pages OAER forms, Gr 10 and 11 certificates, Gr 12 certificate if applicable, 2 full colour ID photos, certified copy of the candidate's ID document, and Amanuensis forms if applicable) before Friday 14 May 2010, we will have to deregister the candidate. There are quite a few parents who allegedly submitted their documents at our reception, but the documents got lost. Please submit the documents again? I am very sorry for the inconvenience, but I did not receive your documents!
4. Delta Winter School 2010
According to the Year Planner the Delta Winter School would take place from 24 June to 2 July. We have, however, received too many complaints about the time ("Soccer World Cup") and the venue (Brakpan), as well as other minor complaints. Then we decided to change the date and venue.
The Delta Winter School will now take place on 19-21 July 2010 in Pretoria at the DRC in Monument Road Lyttelton. You will have to get your own accommodation. The entry fees are R50 per day. Hierdie is die eerste amptelike brief van die Impak Wenspan aan jou. Ek sal elke brief aan die groep nommer sodat jy kan tred hou met die briewe en seker maak dat jy nie een mis nie. / This is the first official letter from the Delta Winning Team to you. I will number each letter to the group in order for you to keep track and to know that you did not miss out on a letter.
First of all, welcome to each one of the Matric candidates, and to eveyone who will be working with them to make this year a big success for them! Secondly, a few important remarks: / Heel eerste: Baie welkom aan elkeen van ons Matriek kandidate en aan elkeen wat saam met hulle sal werk om hierdie jaar 'n groot sukses vir hulle te maak! I haven't got the full details per subject for every candidate as yet. This is the reason why I am sending the outstanding details per subject to every candidate - I am sorry for that one! The info is, however, too important to keep it back from you! / Ek het nog nie die volledige besonderhede per vak vir elke kandidaat nie. Dit is die rede waarom ek die uitstaande besonderhede per vak aan elke kandidaat stuur - ek is jammer daaroor! Die inligting is egter te belangrik om dit van die kandidate te weerhou!
Religion Studies: Please note that the June exam will also consist of two papers, and not one as indicated in the parent guide. / Godsdiensstudie (Religiestudie): Neem asb kennis dat die Junie eksamen ook uit twee vraestelle bestaan, en nie net uit een soos in die ouergids aangedui nie.

- The marks of the Supplementary exams will only be available on 19 April 2010 and not 12 April. / Die punte van die aanvullingseksamens sal eers op 19 April beskikbaar wees en nie op 12 April nie.
- All the candidates will receive their final marks per e-mail or fax (unless you still owe Delta some money). / Al die kandidate sal hulle finale punte per e-pos of faks ontvang (tensy daar nog Impakgelde uitstaande is).
- All (and only) the candidates who wrote the supplementary exams and failed, will have the opportunity to enrol at Delta for 2010 before 22 April 2010. / Al die (en slegs die) kandidate wat die aanvullingseksamens geskryf het en gepluk het, het die geleentheid om voor 22 April 2010 by Impak in te skryf vir 2010.
- No further enrolments for Gr 12 for 2010 will be allowed or accepted. / Geen verdere inskrywings vir Gr 12 vir 2010 sal aanvaar of ontvang word nie.
- The final certificates will be issued by Umalusi by the end of September 2010. We will send it to you. Please phone us during the middle of September to confirm your addresses. / Die finale sertifikate word deur Umalusi uitgereik teen die einde van September 2010. Ons sal dit vir jou stuur.
